Arena scoreboards Alberta

XL AV serves Alberta community arenas and campus bowls. Indoor arena scoreboards are specified as LUXVISION PROLUX Rugged walls that can run ice calendars and dry-floor events without stretching the product outdoors.

Indoor LED display specified by XL AV

Alberta arenas year-round

Provincial community rinks are not dark between junior games. Learn-to-skate, tournaments, dry-floor sport, and civic rentals fill the calendar. XL AV specifies a wall that can carry that load indoors.

Edmonton and Red Deer each have a focused arena scoreboard article. Use those when the search is city-specific.

Dust, cold docks, and service access

Arena back-of-house is hard on electronics. Fanless Mean Well supplies and locking power and data cables are the documented PROLUX Rugged service model. Front service matters when the wall sits on structure with no rear catwalk.

Announcements with the scoreboard

Tournament PA and ice-level announcements belong with the display path. We specify or integrate loudspeakers and DSP when audio is in the project so the far seats can hear the room.

Typical uses

  • Alberta community ice
  • Dry-floor conversions
  • Tournament weekends

PROLUX Rugged

The indoor gym wall

Repairable hardware

Locking power and data cables replace hub boards. Neutrik-style power and Cat6 keystone data keep field repairs inside normal technician practice.

Canadian-made PROLUX

PROLUX is LUXVISION's Canadian-made family. XL AV specifies it as a North American-supported gym platform.

Impact-resistant face and trim

A protective LED mask keeps air-inflated sports balls off the diodes. Micro-grooves help perceived contrast. Perimeter trim protects edges as part of the mechanical design.

Quarter-turn metal-to-metal modules

Earlier rugged products could lose magnetic modules on a hard hit. PROLUX Rugged uses a quarter-turn metal-to-metal interlock so modules stay on the wall and still service from the front.

7-year sports-impact warranty

Current PROLUX Rugged warranty context is 7 years, including impact from air-inflated sports balls over 6 inches in diameter, subject to manufacturer terms.

Full front service

Modules, cabling, and feeder access are designed from the front. That is required when a gym display is mounted tight to a wall with no rear aisle.

Fanless thermal design

Gyms collect dust. Fans ingest that dust and then fail. PROLUX Rugged uses the cabinet as a heat sink with Mean Well supplies. There is no cooling fan in the documented architecture.

Under-driven, efficient LEDs

Pixels capable of about 3,900 nits are operated around 2,100 nits. The intent is less heat and less electrical infrastructure than driving the diodes to their maximum.

  • Canadian-made PROLUX Rugged indoor dvLED
  • Known pitches: P3.3 and P4
  • Cabinets: 1280 by 720 mm (~58") and 1600 by 900 mm (~72"), both 16:9
  • Common 16:9 walls from about 116" to 347" diagonal by arraying cabinets
  • Operating brightness about 2,100 nits (LED capability ~3,900 nits, under-driven)
  • Up to 16-bit colour and ~4,200 Hz refresh in the documented generation
  • Fanless Mean Well power supplies; no hub-board architecture
  • 7-year warranty context including impact from air-inflated balls over 6 inches in diameter

Questions
