Microsoft documents that Copilot respects user access permissions within its Microsoft 365 environment. Broadly shared documents can therefore remain broadly discoverable. We work with IT to identify ownership, inappropriate sharing, and source material that needs cleanup before rollout.

We define approved information sources and representative permission tests. A user who cannot access a restricted record should not receive it through the configured workflow. Retention, auditing, and administrative controls are reviewed against the organization’s requirements and actual service plan.

Training should cover providing context, checking summaries against source material, and reviewing a draft before it is sent or stored. We use role-specific exercises rather than relying only on a general product demonstration.
