Claude can be evaluated for tasks such as drafting, analysis, and work with approved reference material. Claude Code requires additional planning around repositories, command execution, integrations, and the development environment. We establish the intended role before configuration.

XL AV reviews account ownership, the available plan, permitted data, and the workflow’s approval points. A coding agent should receive access to the project it needs without inheriting unrelated credentials or systems.

Claude Code supports MCP connections to external tools and information. We assess server provenance, authentication, exposed functions, and the data each operation sends. A read-only information lookup and an operation that changes a business system require different permissions and review.

We test errors, expired credentials, unexpected tool output, and denied actions. The design specifies who updates the integration and how it can be disabled. A successful initial connection is only one part of the implementation.

For code, we define repository boundaries, review requirements, meaningful checks, and a recovery process. Generated changes need the same acceptance standards as other contributions. Documentation and test output help reviewers assess the result.

We monitor usage and costs against representative tasks, including retries and lengthy sessions. XL AV can scope setup, team guidance, MCP integration, and a pilot evaluation, with service limits and ongoing responsibilities documented.
