Esports Facility AV Integration

AV systems for team practice, coaching, tournaments, and spectators, designed around gameplay and event production.

XL AV integrates video distribution, spectator displays, audio, production equipment, streaming, and controls for school and university esports spaces. We coordinate the AV system with player equipment, IT infrastructure, and the people running each session.

XL AV starts with team sizes, supported games, PC and console requirements, coaching activities, spectator numbers, and production plans. A school esports lab may also serve digital media classes, club activities, and presentations, so those operating modes need to be defined together.

We identify player areas, coaching positions, commentary, production, and audience spaces. Furniture, accessible routes, power, cooling, network connections, and AV service access are coordinated with IT, facilities, and the project team.

Player stations and gaming signal paths

Preserve the gameplay requirements while supplying production feeds.

Player displays and connections are selected for the actual resolution, frame rate, refresh rate, and latency requirements. XL AV reviews the complete signal path, including adapters, splitters, capture interfaces, switching, and display settings.

A spectator or recording feed may need a different format from the player display. We test how the selected equipment handles those simultaneous outputs, including variable refresh rate and EDID behaviour where applicable. Gameplay performance is checked with the intended games and devices before a design is accepted.

Spectator displays and LED media walls

Show the match, tournament information, and event content.

Large displays can present observer views, team introductions, brackets, scores, replay, and approved sponsor content. XL AV plans source routing, image layouts, text size, viewing distance, and audio-video timing for the audience.

For a permanent close-view installation, LUXVISION ECOLUX HD X can suit detailed game content when the selected pixel pitch and display size fit the room. ECOLUX Hanging X can suit reconfigurable tournament or stage layouts. A shared gym installation may call for PROLUX Rugged where indoor impact protection is relevant. The mounting, processing, service access, and display configuration are selected for the application.

Player audio, commentary, and crew communication

Give each group the audio it needs.

Player headsets, game sound, team communication, commentator microphones, audience loudspeakers, and the stream require planned routing. We establish which sources reach each destination and keep private team conversations out of the public programme unless explicitly required.

Commentators need suitable microphones and monitoring, while the production crew may need a separate talkback system. XL AV checks headset connections, simultaneous game-audio outputs, level controls, and the relationship between room sound and open microphones. Acoustic treatment and layout can help manage noise between playing, commentary, and audience areas.

Observer feeds, switching, graphics, and replay

Build an audience programme around the competition.

Where a game supports it, an observer or spectator position can provide a directed view of the match. The game, tournament rules, accounts, and available spectator features determine how that source is produced. Player cameras and commentator cameras can add context.

XL AV integrates the agreed video sources, production switcher, graphics, and monitoring. Replay requires suitable recording or replay equipment and an operator workflow. We define who updates scores and brackets, how assets are prepared, and which elements appear on venue displays and the stream.

Streaming, recording, and content workflows

Deliver the event to the approved audience.

The programme can be encoded for the selected streaming platform and recorded for review or editing. Source recordings, programme recordings, and coaching clips have different storage and operating requirements, which are included in the scope where needed.

We coordinate upload capacity, platform accounts, recording quality, storage, and publication responsibilities. The institution establishes permissions for student appearances, game content, music, and sponsorship. Stream delay and venue display routing are reviewed with organizers where competitive rules require them.

Network coordination and facility infrastructure

Plan game traffic and AV transport with IT.

Game connections, AV-over-IP, cameras, control, and streaming each have network requirements. XL AV coordinates the AV architecture with the institution’s IT team, including port capacity, switch links, addressing, supported discovery, and access permissions.

Game services and tournament operations may require specific accounts or network policies managed by IT and organizers. We define responsibilities and test the intended concurrent activity. Rack locations, cable routes, cooling, electrical provision, and equipment security are coordinated with the relevant trades.

Coaching, review, and everyday room controls

Support routine sessions without rebuilding the tournament setup.

Coaches can use selected player or observer views, recordings, and presentation sources for team review. Annotation and clip navigation depend on the chosen tools. We define what can be shown during practice and how review material is stored and accessed.

Room presets can support teaching, practice, competition, and presentation modes. Controls identify sources and destinations clearly, with appropriate access for staff and trained production operators. Shared displays can carry school information when the space is not hosting a session.

Tournament rehearsal, training, and handover

Test the full event with representative equipment and operators.

Commissioning checks player displays, production feeds, headset audio, commentary, graphics, spectator screens, recording, and stream reception. A rehearsal uses the intended games, formats, crew roles, and concurrent stations to expose routing and operating issues.

XL AV provides the agreed training, operating instructions, configuration backups, and system records. Staff responsibilities cover account access, software changes, equipment checks, and support escalation. Future additions can then be assessed against a documented system.
