Canadian roots, international production

TeamBoard’s story began in Canada during the development of interactive whiteboards. Its published 2023 history describes more than 25 years of involvement in that technology, followed by a move into interactive flat panels for education, corporate, and government environments.

Today, the range has manufacturing connections in China and Australia. TeamBoard specifically identifies its mobility trolleys as designed and manufactured in Australia. Canadian origins describe the brand’s history; the production location and configuration should be confirmed for the particular product being specified.

That background provides context, but room selection still starts with the activity: teaching at a shared screen, reviewing a drawing, presenting from a laptop, or bringing a display between spaces.

TeamBoard AX: a shared surface for content and touch

The AX combines a 4K UHD image with 20-point infrared touch. TeamBoard lists Android 14 with EDLA certification, Google Play access, an included Android OPS module, and an upgradeable operating-system approach. Its published connectivity includes built-in AirServer sharing, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB-C with 4K passthrough and 65 W charging.

TeamBoard also lists toughened glass, 500-nit brightness, and landscape or portrait mounting. Those are specification starting points. The selected size, current hardware, software support, and supported mounting arrangement need confirmation against the applicable model documentation.

In a classroom, a touch display can provide a common view of learning material while the teacher annotates or demonstrates a task. In a meeting room, it can support drawing review, planning, and group discussion. Reach, display height, writing position, and the smallest text people need to read determine whether the arrangement works.

AirServer Connect 3: a separate wireless-sharing path

AirServer Connect 3 is a dedicated screen-mirroring appliance. TeamBoard lists AirPlay, Google Cast, and Miracast support, a guest network, cloud management, and USB-C connectivity. It provides an option for adding wireless presentation to a compatible display or presentation system.

The AX’s built-in AirServer app and the Connect 3 appliance are separate implementation choices. A room may use the integrated function, a dedicated receiver, or another agreed presentation path. Selection depends on source devices, network policy, display connections, and the required control workflow.

Sharing a screen is one part of a meeting. Access to room cameras and microphones for a guest laptop is a separate requirement that must be checked against the selected hardware and supported interfaces. Multi-device performance, output resolution, touch return, and conferencing functions should be verified for the intended configuration.

Plan the room around the people using it

Begin with seating distances, viewing angles, example content, and the positions where people will interact with the screen. A display at the end of a deep room needs different image sizing from a screen used by a small group standing nearby. Reflections, windows, and room lighting also affect placement.

For a mobile installation, review trolley compatibility, display weight, mounting orientation, door clearances, cable management, and the procedure for moving and reconnecting the system. A suitable trolley does not remove the need to check the complete installed arrangement.

Audio, cameras, and controls should follow the use. A classroom may need teacher reinforcement; a hybrid meeting may need microphones, loudspeakers, echo cancellation, and camera coverage. Define these tasks alongside the display rather than assuming its built-in functions cover the entire room.

Check device, network, and account requirements

Identify the laptops, tablets, phones, and operating systems that will present. Test the ordinary workflow: connect, select the intended receiver, share content, play audio, disconnect, and hand over to the next person. Include guest devices and representative teaching or meeting content.

Coordinate wireless discovery, guest access, account ownership, application permissions, updates, and device management with IT. Decide how users sign out and remove session content. A room standard should document both the supported functions and the staff responsible for maintaining them.

What to bring to a TeamBoard consultation

Bring a room plan, seating layout, example content, existing equipment list, and the activities users need to complete. Identify whether the screen will be fixed or mobile, which devices will connect, and whether conferencing or recording is required.

XL AV can review the display, source connections, audio, cameras, mounting, networking, and controls as a complete project. Model availability, compatibility, installation scope, commissioning, and training are established during design.
